We provide Domiciliary Care for individuals in their own homes with the level of care appropriate to their personal needs, as reflected within their support plan and determined in consultation with them. This will ensure self-determination, choice and promoting independence to enhance their quality of life.

Support plans will be compiled with the service user and will outline the level and manner in which support will be provided. The plan will take into account the service user’s choices and preferences and will be regularly reviewed at the service user’s request.

Assistance by staff with bathing and toileting will always be delivered in a manner sensitive to the needs of the individual service user (for example, a male carer washing a male service user’s body).

Service users will be encouraged to develop and maintain as much independence as possible.

Service users will choose when they get up and when they go to bed, unless their medical condition makes this impracticable.

Personal care activities will accommodate the service user’s choices, and will not be arranged according to management convenience.

Our Domiciliary Care Services Include

• 24-hour live-in carers.
• Support for vulnerable adults.
• Support for Mental Health clients in the community, including those with dementia or severe and enduring mental health issues
• Support for individuals with eating disorders, learning difficulties or on the autistic spectrum disorder,   sensory impairment and physical disability

Personal Care

We provide personal care for persons who, by reason of old age, illness or disability are unable to provide it for themselves and this is provided in the place where they live or when they are supported in the community or when accessing other services. Tasks may include washing and dressing, facial shaving and grooming, nail care, using and managing toileting facilities.

Administration of medication (non-nursing)

This includes reminding, prompting and full support with the taking of medication in the form of tablets, creams, ointments, liquid and maintaining appropriate records. Medication can be dispensed from dossett boxes, blisters packs and original packages with corresponding MAR charts.

Domestic Services

This includes dealing with intensive cleaning (agreed under special circumstances), any household cleaning, sweeping mopping floors, vacuuming, making and changing beds and laundry service.

Provision of Meals & Dietary Care

This includes care and support planning and preparing meals in line with individuals’ choices, preferences and any medical advice where applicable.

Shopping

This includes help and support to complete shopping tasks for household supplies and any other items including clothes depending on individuals’ choices and preferences.

Social Care and Support Services

We provide help and support for individuals to do activities they like doing. This could be visiting relatives, friends, going to the cinema, bowling, volunteering, attending appointments, undertaking any activities of leisure and meeting cultural or religious outcomes.

Extended Roles

This may include stoma and catheter care and we would ensure that our staff receive appropriate training before supporting with these tasks. Our staff may also support with the administration of suppositories, buccal medication and pessaries, eye drops, creams and ointments. Additional training would be required and appropriate risk assessments implemented to ensure safe practice.
